The Smoky Mountains
Nature abounds in the Smoky Mountains. Hike or bike countless trails, including the famous Cades Cove (a great place to see bears). And if you want a little more "city action", Gatlinburg and Dollywood are nearby.
Once known as a place to take young kids to see the Aquarium, Children’s Museum, and Ruby Falls, Chattanooga has loads to offer families with older kids/teens and couples looking for a relaxing get-away: One of the world's longest pedestrian bridges; the Hunter Museum of Art and various galleries; the start of the Trail of Tears; U.S. Civil War battlefields and monuments; miles of hiking trails; mountain biking and rugged natural caves with underground waterfalls too!
